We had an amazing and beautiful Saturday. While the weekends can be hectic around here, it is all in good fun!
We started our Saturday out like most Saturdays with two soccer games. This week was also picture week so, you know, good times!
After soccer, we had a new adventure. We decided to participate in a food co-op. We had looked at these before and found that they can be sort of pricey, so we had just discarded the idea. Recently, though, a friend of mine on Facebook posted pictures of her loot from a co-op, so I got the information. My family LOVES its fruits and vegetables, and we go through them like crazy. This is their go-to snack and sometimes, raw vegetables is all that Lexi and Mason will eat for dinner.
So we found this co-op that you get 50% fruit and 50% vegetables. You don't get to pick what you get, but to us, that just adds to the excitement. There are lots of add-ons that you can get as well like fresh bread, flats of strawberries, fruit packs for juicing, fresh salsa packs, and tortillas. This all will vary each time that you participate, but there are SO many options! We have to go to the website and opt in on Tuesday, and then pick up is on Saturday. These are all of the goodies that I was able to get....
Needless to say, I will absolutely be taking advantage of this again! I got great produce for a good price and supported small farm owners! Who could ask for more?
If you are interested in learning more about the food co-op (this site is accessible for many states) you can go to www.bountifulbaskets.org.
As a new blogger, I have a lot of ideas floating around in my head of things that I can write about. If there is something that you would like to see featured in here, let me know. Keep in mind that this will be from the view point of a mom, and it will be my opinion and research.
Thanks for reading again!
